So want to go to this, but have college the next day. It is my mission next year to make sure I go!

Ring My Bell

New girl crush: Ashley Madekwe from Ring My Bell. After recently starting to watch revenge (and loving it) I thought I thought I recognised 'Ashley' from somewhere. And after many hours researching I finally realised where she was from. I found this blog a long time ago, and had forgotten how much I loved Ashley's style. It's effortless and very mixed; sometimes its girly, other time more rock and roll. I shall definitely be taking tips in the near future.

Covent Garden Street Style

Last week I took a trip to London, mostly to visit the V&A Ballgown exhibition (which was amazing btw!), but also to have a mooch around Covent Garden as I never get to go there enough. It was such a nice day, and while I was there I got some street style photos which was a bonus. So many people in London seem to have much better style than anywhere else! I also bought a few things from Mango and Zara, which I will share soon.

Mango AW12

I just got the new Mango catalogue through this morning, and I am in love with next seasons stuff. Mango is always seen as classy and elegant, and continues to preserve that image, but with a really comforting feel. They have a mix of textures (the jackets being my favourite), and basic pieces that every wardrobe needs. I will be saving up and hopefully buying some key pieces in the near future.

August-Wardrobe Staples

These are pretty much my everyday essentials in my wardrobe at the moment. It's such an awkward time of year, some days its warm, others not so much so these key pieces are suitable for all weather conditions. I'm a huge jeans person, so different colours and shapes are a huge part of my wardrobe; plus other basic items such as a white shirt and a classic tote. I also couldn't live without my leather jacket, my number one item for sure!

Recent Buys

(Dress-Zara; Jacket-Primark; Sandals-Primark; Boots-ASOS)

Some of my most recent buys; as I am broke at the moment shopping is being kept to a minimum sadly. But my birthdays coming up in September so I'm hoping I will get lots of money to do a really big shop for next season.
This Zara dress I had spotted a while ago, and when I saw it in the sale for under half price I couldn't resist it; plus its perfect for the wedding I'm going to this weekend. I have a thing about jackets at the moment, but they are so expensive. This one in Primark was reduced to £10, I think it looks much more high end than a lot of there stuff. It's quite thick too, so perfect for autumn. The sandals are also a reduced item (I'm a sucker for a bargain), however an old granny was trying them on at the same time as me, whether that says anything about my style I do not know. And finally - the boots! I had been looking for some similar to the Isabel Marant ones for so long, and thought these looked pretty similar. They are so comfy, and look great with anything from jeans to summer dresses.

Winchester Fashion Week (catch-up)

OMG! I'm so so sorry I haven't blogged in months! It's so terrible of me but I've been super busy with fashion week, exams etc. I promise I will get back to it in this last month of summer, then hopefully when I get back to college for art foundation I will have lots more things to show you guys, outfit wise and work!

First major point of discussion: Winchester Fashion Week! It was an incredible experience for me - I met so many amazing people, and was able to do things I'd wanted to do for a long time.
I heard about it last year, saw the photos on the website and really wanted to get involved; so I handed in an application, they accepted and that's how it started. We began planning fashion week back in December; I was on the event and journalist team, so that meant I had to do things such as come up with event ideas and start to plan them, write blog posts and articles (I even got some feature in the official WFW magazine!) There was months of planning all leading up to one week: Fashion Week ran from the 9th - 16th of June and it was a really hectic times because I had my A-levels at the same time. We had events running every day, but luckily I didn't have to be at all of them. The main features were the Brook's fashion shows and the Cirque Du Fashion shows (the Brook's showing off outfits from the high street and the Cirque Du Fashion show centring around unique pieces from local designers). On the days where there were no actual shows we had rehearsals and fitting, which were really fun. We just hung out with the team and the models, most of which had been recruited by Captial FM. The shows were amazing to see (well, as much as I could - I was backstage at all of them), and some of the clothes were stunning, so unique and individual. We had some really crazy outfits, like you'd see on the runway, and some more classic pieces that could be worn everyday.
All in all, after months of planning I'm glad to say Winchester Fashion Week was a huge success! I gained so much experience from it in terms of writing and getting my first articles published (great for my CV) and also meeting people and networking. Even though it was hectic at time, I'm so thankful for the opportunity and hope to take part again next year!

Here are some images from backstage at shows:
